Profiling

Consultancies, coaching and training & development activities in leadership benefit greatly from the use of profiling instruments.

Adair Leadership Australia offers a number of profiling instruments across the following aspects of leadership within organisations:

  1. Organisational Needs Analysis
  2. Team Needs Analysis and Profiling
  3. Individual Leader Profiling

ORGANISATIONAL NEEDS ANALYSIS

This profiling instrument identifies those needs of the organization requiring priority action from its leadership

The priority needs of divisions, branches and offices of an organisation can also be mapped with minimum preparation.

Repeats of the profiling exercise allow a measure of any movement in needs over time. These comparisons allow, for example, monitoring of the impacts of change on an organization, and measurement of the success of leadership initiatives.

ALAust can customize the instrument for a particular organization and / or with a particular situation

ALAust analyses and reports on the responses given to the leader profiling instrument

TEAM PROFILING

TEAM NEEDS ANALYSIS

This profiling instrument is a shortened format applicable for analysing particular teams at the frontline, senior management and / or executive management levels.

ALAust analyses and reports on the responses given to the Team Needs Profiling instrument.

The analysis can be extended, by further arrangements with ALAust, to carry out focus groups to obtain greater depth and detail upon the analysis of needs available from the Team Needs. Profiling instrument

TEAM ROLES PROFILING

This profiling instrument is used to map the contributions that any member of a particular team tends to make towards the teamwork of that group.

The power factors for achieving the needs of any group, and the functions of the ACL Paradigm, form the basis for defining ten categories of contributions that individuals can make to the success of the team

Individuals can display an interest, naturally occurring, for making contributions in certain of these areas before others.

A profiling of all individuals in a team can indicate those areas of the Adair Model and the ACL Paradigm that any team has covered naturally. This will also identify those areas that may not be attended to naturally by the team.

The Adair approach directs the team then to take deliberate efforts to ensure that the team acts upon those less attended aspects.

INDIVIDUAL LEADER STYLES

THE LEADER’S PREFERRED APPROACH

These profiling instruments give an indication to a leader of their preferred or instinctive approach when responding to a range of leadership situations. This preference indicates other approaches that may be less tried and that might be used in some situations

DIFFERENT LEVELS OF LEADER

Specialised profiling instruments are available for

  1. CEOs and Executives,
  2. Senior and Middle Managers,
  3. Frontline Managers,
  4. Project Directors and Program Managers, and
  5. Project Managers

SELF SCORING FORMATS / ALAUST SCORING FORMATS

ALAust offers both fixed answer self scoring instruments as well as freestyle answer formats for which ALAust provides an analysis and a report

‘360’ ANALYSES

ALAust also provides instruments formatted for feedback from the colleagues, the subordinates and the superiors of the subject leader when the leader is seeking a ‘360’ type feedback on their leadership approach.
